Scale Inhibitors Print E-mail

ARC-102 Range of products

The products of this series are used as scale inhibitors, corrosion inhibitors and dispersants in cooling water treatment. This page will provide you information on following codes of products

ARC-1021, 1022,1024,1025,1026,1027

An Ideal Solution to Scale / Corrosion Problems

Cooling water problems are

  • Scaling

  • Corrosion

SCALE: - Minerals such as calcium and magnesium are relatively insoluble in water and can precipitate out of the water to form scale deposits when exposed to common conditions found in cooling water system.

CORROSION: - Common metals used in cooling systems, such as mild steel, involves removing oxygen from the cooling water systems, which provides an ideal environment for the reversion of the metal to oxide state. This reversion process is called corrosion.

Effects of these problems

If left untreated or left uncontrolled, it can cause :-

- Increased maintenance cost.

- Reduced heat transfer efficiency and therefore greater energy losses.

(For example, 1/8" of scale can reduce the efficiency of a cooling tower heat exchanger by 40%.)

- Possible production cutbacks or shutdowns.

SOLUTION

Treat with chemicals designed to prevent scale and corrosion
Limit the concentration of scale forming minerals by controlled cycle of concentration.

The choice of particular method of water conditioning depends upon the chemical composition of water so its advisable to handover your system to a professional water treatment service provider.

Our Products

ARC-102 range of chemicals offer comprehensive and result-oriented treatment in order to control these problems consequently & users can achieve the maximum result from the Cooling Systems.

Characteristics of ARC-102 based inhibitor are.

--- High Calcium Tolerance
--- Inhibits All of Calcium Scale
--- Hydrolytically Stable, i.e., It Doesn’t Break Down, Hence Doesn’t Loose Inhibiting Properties
--- Environmentally Acceptable
--- Stable in Most Concentrations of Acids & Alkalis
--- Contains No Halogen, Phosphorus, Silica or Heavy Metal

Most formulated scale control chemicals are carefully selected blends of chemicals designed to control specific mineral scales. It should be kept in mind that the objective of Scale Inhibitor is to keep the heat transfer tubes clean regardless of mechanism. Inhibitors for calcium phosphate and calcium sulfate are recent development. These new products, mostly polymeric in nature, make best possible scale prevention of any kind in comparison to conventional scale preventive chemicals.

Product Characteristics of various products falling under this ranger are:

ARC-1021 is based upon a combination of organic phosphate, polyphosphate and special corrosion inhibitors. It increases solubility of calcium and magnesium salts in the water and prevent it from precipitating on heat exchanger surface. It interferes in the process of formation of crystals of scale forming salt. The scale formed by such crystal is very weak, fluffy and normally are washed off by water velocity.

ARC-1022 is based upon a combination of organic phosphate, polyphosphate and special corrosion inhibitors. It increases solubility of calcium and magnesium salts in the water and prevent it from precipitating on heat exchanger surface. It interferes in the process of formation of crystals of scale forming salt. The scale formed by such crystal is very weak, fluffy and normally are washed off by water velocity.

ARC-1024 is a combination of organic phosphate, low molecular weight polymer and corrosion inhibitor. The powerful dispersant blended in the product also prevents fouling due to silt and suspended particles. It is also capable of preventing troublesome calcium phosphate and calcium scale along with calcium carbonate.

ARC-1025 is a combination of organic phosphate, low molecular weight polymer and corrosion inhibitor. The powerful dispersant blended in the product also prevents fouling due to silt and suspended particles. It is also capable of preventing troublesome calcium phosphate and calcium scale along with calcium carbonate.

ARC-1026 is a combination of low molecular weight polymer along with corrosion inhibitor. Low molecular weight water-soluble polymers are very effective anti-precipitants and prevent all type of scale formation, under wide range of pH and alkalinity fluctuation. They have very high calcium tolerance power.

ARC-1027 is a combination of low molecular weight polymer along with corrosion inhibitor. Low molecular weight water-soluble polymers are very effective anti-precipitants and prevent all type of scale formation, under wide range of pH and alkalinity fluctuation. They have very high calcium tolerance power.

Dosage & Feeding

The type of Cooling Tower, quality of water and other relevant factors determines dosage. ALBATROSS will provide technical assistance and will suggest particular product, its dosage, in accordance with your plant operating conditions and quality of water.
